Went on a Thursday night for wife's birthday. Waitress was very friendly with good humor. Food was delicious, loved the pizza. Crust wasn't too crunchy, was just how I like it. My wife got sauteed mushrooms and they came out perfect. Inside was nice with good atmosphere, don't judge place by outside. Though atmosphere did get knocked a point as somewhere the loudest screeching of a table could be heard, but luckily noise was short lived.

To find a Italian restaurant that is so close in the city of Hemet. Was it big surprise. After being here for over 15 years to know that this place was right here in the backyard of Hemet really did surprise me. The food the pasta the owner I really can't say that I was starstruck that a place like this put out a order 10 people with different different types of pasta and everything came out hot and very delicious. The bread is made on site the past is made on site. Wow I am really impressed sorry it took me 15 years to go to this place but it was well worth it. I would highly recommend this place to anybody and doesn't feel like making pizza or pasta and getting the real thing. I can't say nothing about this place very reasonable very reasonable prices I did not expect that for such great food. It should have been priced higher That's how good the food was normally I would never say anything like that but it made our group very pleasurable from the service to the food to meeting the owner. I would highly recommend this place.

*Reasonably priced, excellent place for a first date, anniversary, birthday, or any other excuse you have for going out. If you're the kind of person who craves authenticity and old-school Italian charm, then you'll love Datillo Ristorante. The place is owned by a real Italian family (vs. some soul-less corporation) and has been around for over 34 years. Who knew Hemet, home of taquerias and fast food, still had a quality sit-down establishment such as this? I didn't get any of their famous pizza (this time) but instead was treated to a plate of perfectly cooked spaghetti with to-die-for red sauce. I mean the sauce was awesome- fresh and not-acidic. (Yay! no heartburn!) The noodles were al dente, the way I like them, and the meatballs were not greasy and spiced perfectly If you're going to absorb lots of calories and knock your diet off track, make sure its worthwhile, fresh and well-prepared food. Datillo made going off my low-carb diet easy and painless. HA! My meal included two slices of their homemade bread (I could have eaten a whole loaf of that stuff!) I chose the lentil soup as my side dish. While the food was indeed awesome, its the ambiance that impressed most impressed me. Staff was friendly and attentive, the bartender, who I later discovered was actually one of the owners was a delightfully young 80-something man full of entertaining stories and a song or two. An added feature of my visit is that one of their long-time patrons was having a birthday celebration...her 107th Birthday! Maybe there's something in the Datillo sauce that contributed to her longevity? I got to meet that lovely lady and hear her sing along with the owner. Pure gold! If Buca di Beppo were REALLY Italian, it would be like Datillo Ristorante, only not as good. PS: If you drink adult beverages and you like a slightly sweeter cocktail, ask for an Italian martini. YUMMY.

Terrible service, worse food! Waited an hour for 3 simple meals, waitress never checked on us, never updated us as to the lengthy delay…only 4 other tables with patrons in the restaurant! Food finally arrives, no apology and the chicken Parmesan was burnt dark brown! The other pasta had just stewed tomatoes on it…not seasoned at all! The other chicken dish supposedly had crab and asparagus in a wine sauce…looked and smelled like vomit! Way overrated, overpriced and extremely underwhelming! Never again!

Beautiful decor that screams Italy...I love that it is family owned and lovingly cards for and preserved in the tradition started in 1958. All my food was superb and made with love and fresh from.scratch..the eggplant parm and fettuccine were heavenly, as was the spinach tortellini. The only bad part is that I live in Seattle and can't eat here all the time!
